Both have their advantages and depend on the student's preferences & needs.

Private sessions offer a more tailored experience & specific training to the individual's needs.

Semi-Private & Group sessions offer peer interactions for conversation practice and learning from each other's strengths.

These sessions are specifically geared to increase your score on the AP Spanish Exam. NOTE: This is for students who are enrolled in AP Spanish Language & Culture and/or are signed up to take the AP Exam in May.

While most tutors can help you improve your Spanish or complete homework, they are may not be trained by the College Board on every section of this AP Test.

I have over a decade of experience with AP and have taught this course to hundreds of students with the majority scoring 4's and 5's (non-native, non-heritage speakers).

I can target specific areas that need attention & coach you into better habits and testing strategies.

For example, the final speaking part of the exam is the Cultural Comparison. You have 4 minutes to prepare your 2 minute speech. I can coach you on how to best use your time, power phrases to impress the evaluators with your organization, and train you on the types of evidence to use to demonstrate your cultural knowledge.

If you want to work with specific individuals, it's best to book a semi-private session for the flat rate. Prior to booking, you organize a group (2-5 students) and reserve one of the slots for semi-private training. Based on this small group's needs and abilities, I'll adapt our practice activities and exam prep.

All necessary materials will be provided electronically during the Zoom session or through email.

My expertise comes from 20 years in the classroom in the Chicago suburbs, teaching the AP level at Hinsdale Central High School, Illinois Math & Science Academy, and Naperville North. I've lived and studied in 5 different cities across Spain, Costa Rica, and Peru, and bring those experiences & my other travels abroad to our cultural comparisons. After many trainings with the College Board, AP Spanish Language & Culture has always been my favorite course to teach.
